Was für eine Entdeckung! Dieses Buch von Michael Port ist gepackt voll mit Tipps zum Thema "besser reden". Dabei beschränkt er sich keineswegs auf rhetorische Tricks, sondern adaptiert Wissen und Praxis aus seiner früheren Schauspieler Karriere für den täglichen Gebrauch.Das Buch beginnt mit einem Teil über mindset, geht über zu Performance principles und schließt mit einer masterclass zu Rhetorik. Ich weiß jetzt das eine oder andere zum Redenhalten :) doch das Buch begeistert mich vollkommen.Sehr empfehlenswert für alle die sicher kommunizieren möchten in allen Lebenslagen.
I can say that I have learned more about giving presentations from this book than I have learned in 14 years of going to school (which is really sad when you think about it). The only topic that isn't really covered in this book is body language. But otherwise it has such a great advice that I'll definitely rate it 5 stars!
The book tells that you are going to stun audiences, but forgets to tell you how exactly. A bit hollow from my perspective. The little practical advice is scarce and basic.The only valuable point it makes is preparation is essential for a good act, which is good if the task is a presentation or a speech in front of a (big) audience. Most situations in business involve improvising, time pressure, and interactive audiences. Also controlling yourself requires energy, which is available in limited supply, and talent, which you have or you don't.So, unfortunately, not much to learn from the book...
I bought this book in a time where I had to go to job interviews and I needed new inspiration. And this book gave me a lot more than new motivation! The author explains not only explains some interesting points about communication skills, but he is giving many great advices and tipps on how to prepare yourself for important meetings.... and he also helps to deal with fears, this was very helpful for me too... all together I received a lot more helpful information than expected, and this book will for sure serve me in future for my career. I recommend this book to all people who wish to move forward in their career!!

Ein wirklich schönes Buch! Ohne Schnörkel, ohne Umwege, einfach offen und ehrlich das Thema Liebe, Sex und Kinder bekommen erklärt!
Mit diesem Buch wurde ich schon aufgeklärt und nun habe ich mir gleich ein Exemplar für meinen Sohn gekauft.Super anschaulich und toll erklärt!
Ist Zeugung und Geburt eine peinliche Angelegenheit, bei dessen Erklärung man einen roten Kopf bekommen muß? Und selbst für diejenigen (Eltern), bei denen das noch so sein mag: müssen die diese Einstellung unbedingt auch an ihren Nachwuchs weitergeben? Wenn ja, dann mag man dieses Buch einsetzen, ansonsten lieber nicht. Denn dieses Buch setzt eben genau diesen Rahmen.Es fängt an mit den Worten:"Dieses Buch sagt, was du über dich wissen mußt. Wir haben es geschrieben, weil wir dachten, du möchtest gern wissen, wo du eigentlich herkommst und wie das alles geschehen ist.Und wir wissen (weil wir selber Kinder haben), wie schwer es ist, die Wahrheit zu sagen, ohne einen roten Kopf zu kriegen und zu stottern."Und schon die Beschreibung auf dem hinteren Buchumschlag setzt den gleichen Rahmen: "Dies ist ein Buch für verlegene Eltern."Daher werde ich das Buch zurückschicken und lieber das andere Buch einsetzen, das ich mit zeitgleicher Amazon-Lieferung erhalten habe ("Woher die kleinen Kinder kommen", Doris Rübel, Ravensburger Verlag), welches unbefangen und natürlich redet über die natürlichste Sache der Welt, und mir daneben auch von der ganzen Aufmachung zwei Sterne besser gefällt.Trotz der o.g. Kritik gebe ich immerhin drei Punkte, denn abgesehen von dieser mE unglücklichen Rahmensetzung scheint mir der weitere Text beim schnellen Überfliegen insgesamt ganz in Ordnung zu sein.Zu sagen ist noch, daß die Schrift des Buches insgesamt sehr groß ist (7 mm hohe Buchstaben), offenbar ist das Buch also dafür vorgesehen, daß die Kinder es nicht nur vorgelesen bekommen (dann könnte man diese ungünstige Einleitung ja einfach weglassen), sondern SELBST lesen. Gerade dann aber werden sie damit konfrontiert, daß es in diesem Buch um etwas geht, wo man offenbar einen roten Kopf bekommen und das Stottern anfangen muß. ;-(
Das Buch kenne ich schon seit vielen Jahren und es hat mir oft geholfen. Ich bekam es geschenkt als meine inzwischen 27jährige Tochter in den Kindergarten kam. Das Buch finde ich sehr gut, da es den manchmal überforderten Eltern Hilfestellung gibt. Wie und was sage ich es meinem Kinde und zwar so, dass es nicht überfordert ist und danach doch weis, dass die Babys nicht vom Storch gebracht werden!!!!Da ich inzwischen OMA geworden bin, habe ich das Buch auch meiner Tochter nachträglich zur Geburt geschenk und weil ich gerade dabei war, bekam meine jüngste das Buch auch gleich zur Hochzeit.Viel Spaß beim lesen.
...für meine eigenen kinder. ein wunderbar, mit viel seele und sehr humorvoll illustriertes buch mit dem charme der siebziger jahre aber dennoch absolut zeitlos;
Dieses Buch habe ich als Kind schon gehabt und habe es deshalb für meine Kinder auch gekauft. Es ist anschaulich gestaltet und für Kinder sehr verständlich.
